Sustainability
As a long-term investor in the Russia's real estate market, we recognise our corporate responsibility and the added value sustainability can bring to both community and business. Environmental responsibility is a cornerstone of our development philosophy. By integrating appropriate land use, building design and construction strategies we try to reduce environmental impacts believing that sustainability will deliver better business and above average returns.
We know that sustainability is an important concern for real estate developers and we understand the benefits from our strategy.
We define four major criteria of sustainability benefits:
- cost: sustainable buildings are more efficient;
- energy saving: by lowering electric bills, water bills and gas bills;
- customer benefit: sustainable buildings tend to lead to healthier lifestyles;
- investor relations: investors see the cost savings and the opportunity to work with a future-thinking company.
We focus on urban development creating sustainable design concepts and utilizing building materials and systems that conserve natural resources.
We believe that sustainable buildings offer healthier, more satisfying lifestyle environment, so we design and build projects with natural daylight, fresh air ventilation and low-maintenance landscaping. These projects conserve water and energy and are built with environmentally friendly materials.
We also implemented environment management system at our production facilities in accordance with ISO standard 14000. ISO 14000 is designed to minimize environmental damage and waste disposal expenses, save energy and materials, reduce emergency incidences, improve our corporate image with the regulatory authorities, customers and the public, and to remove national and international trade barriers. DSK-2 and DSK-3, our main concrete panel production plants have been certified under ISO standard 14000.
We are open and clear about our sustainability achievements and pay special attention to our employees' environmental education.
